and a brief history…..

The creation of Photomap came about in 1997 when it was originally known as Mark Holmes Photography & Mapping.
Mark worked on contract to an overseas forest investor during the time when GIS was becoming accepted as the way forward to provide better forest maps together with associated management efficiencies. He worked using ArcInfo and helped iron out practical problems with applications in the field. Approaches by other forestry consultants led Mark to becoming better established and in 2001 and Photomap NZ Ltd was established running the ArcView GIS platform.
Early in 2011 Cathy McBride joined the team as a co-director. She brings Graphics and Design skills across multiple software platforms together with some great IT problem solving skills. Photomap and its loyal customer base benefit greatly from her enthusiasm and experience to ensure we stay up to date with the fast paced technological advances in the mapping industry.
We are now proudly a divison of Buck Forestry Services Ltd, allowing us to integrate with Buck’s existing services to the forestry industry and further expand our services.  See buckforestry.com for full details.
