and a brief history…..

The creation of Photomap came about in 1997 when it was originally known as Mark Holmes Photography & Mapping.  Mark was working in the forestry industry during the time that GIS was becoming the new standard for mapping in the industry and so in 2001 and Photomap NZ Ltd was established running the ArcView GIS platform and providing mapping and aerial photography services primarily to the local forestry industry.  In 2011 Cathy McBride joined the team as a co-director and the technology and scope of the business grew.
Now in 2017 we are now proudly a division of Buck Forestry Services Ltd, allowing us to integrate with Buck’s existing forestry data services.
See buckforestry.com for full details.
This move has merged the growing UAV (drone) side of Buck Forestry and the mapping specialist skills of Photomap – we are now in a position to offer the most up to date technology and software to enhance your business, whatever that business may be.

Sam Butler-Hogg is the GIS-Coordinator at Photomap/Buck Forestry and is always happy to discuss your photography or mapping needs.

Chris Aitken-Buck is the chief UAV pilot, a qualified airline pilot as well as Part 102 Certified UAV pilot, his experience and knowledge in the air will result in the best photography to suit your requirements.
